It's September. Family law lawyers will be preparing themselves for the rush starting next week.
First, after a summer of only hearing emergency matters, the family King
's Bench court is again hearing routine cases. That alone will make the family law lawyers a whole lot busier now that they have to prepare for and attend court hearings again.
Secondly, the usual holiday times end for both lawyers and for clients. So many people are travelling or at the lake or just not wanting to deal with legal matters. Calls and emails to the family law lawyers in my office definitely decrease as soon as school lets out. Clients are busy with their kids and lawyers are taking time off. This changes dramatically as soon as everyone returns from holidays. Suddenly they want to get moving with their cases.
Fortunately, the summer break was a good chance to catch up and rest up, and we`re all ready for the September rush.
