Many of the child and spousal support orders in Manitoba are enforced by the Maintenance Enforcement Program.
The program is free to use and it definitely helps collects support payments that would not have otherwise been made. MEP has some very powerful tools to use, including the ability to garnishee wages and bank accounts, suspend a driver's licence and even set a court hearing in which a willful non-payor can be jailed.
