In his "What About Clients?" blog, J.D. Hull wrote a list of rules of client service. The rules are common sense ways to provide good service to legal clients. These are a few I try to be conscious of every day. I'm certainly not perfect, but I will always keep trying:
1. Represent only clients you like
2. The client is the main event
3. Make sure everyone in your firm knows the client is the main event
4. Deliver legal work that changes the way clients think about lawyers
5. Overcommunicate; bombard, copy and confirm
6. Know the client
7. Think like the client - try to control costs
8. Be accurate, thorough and timely - but not perfect
9. Have fun
